BioRust Forum and Site question

I'm wondering...
I need to make a site ( a portal in fact ) wich will handle a large amount of downloads and users.
And I want to make it based on the vBulletin forum engine, so all pages outside the forum script use same account infos and membership that vbulletin has. ( Just like biorust )
So I want to make my own download area, article area, reviews, news, gallery, with my own PHP code, but use vB database for users ( blablabla ) you get the point. Just like biorust. And I've seen other pages where they implemented the forum in a site.
Please can you give some help? I want to make an index page just like biorust's with news and stuff, and a login panel that after you login takes you back to index, and same after register. And after you register your new account, you can view content on other pages too, like downloads or gallery.
If you have an idea, anyone, or if u can tell me how biorust did that, I'll be extremly glad. Please.
Thank you in advance!

PS: I understand HTML code, and know how to use it, I also understand PHP code, but I use copy-paste all the time, don't know how to write it myself.

Well, everything I have is actually based on stuff freely disseminated over at www.vbulletin.org and www.vbhackers.com . You can learn how to do pretty much anything with vbulletin integration by doing a search on it over there!

Need more? Look this:

This site was created with one goal in mind. To give you the opportunity to "try out" some of the best php/mysql based free and open source software systems in the world. You are welcome to be the administrator of any site here, allowing you to decide which system best suits your needs.

The administrator username and password is given for every system and each system is deleted and re-installed every two hours. This allows you to to add and delete content, change the way things look, basically be the admin of any system here without fear of breaking anything.

At the upper left hand side of your screen you will see a clock that is counting down. What it shows is how much time is left in this two hour demo window. Once the clock hits 00:00:00, opensourceCMS.com will shut down and the demos will be completely refreshed. This takes about 5 minutes, and afterwards opensourceCMS.com will re-activate and the demo's will appear as fresh installations ready to be demo'ed again..

I hope opensourceCMS.com is useful in your quest to find the right software system for your needs. If you're looking for hosting, OpenSourceHost supports every system here. OpenSourceHost will even install the system of your choice for free when you sign up for an account.

Please keep in mind that opensourceCMS is for you, as well as for people that have yet to discover it. If you know of a system that should be here let us know. If you have something to say then visit the forums and say it. Your input is wanted, needed, and appreciated. Thank you.
