Unhappy cancelled download still takes biocredits

if i decide to cancel a download i still seem to be charged biocredits.

what's up with that?

besides that - i love this place!

edit: uhm, perhaps i wasn't clear enough... let's say i click to download then hit 'cancel' befor the actual download begins. -still- being charged for that.

Dunno

It's probably just charges you credits when you click the thumbnail to download it. The only solution would be to PM M0g and ask him about it, or just decide wether you want it or not before you click on it.

Yes, you lose the Biocredit when you click the download. Otherwise, the script has no idea if you downloaded the file or cancelled it. Sorries.

Yeah, i'm afraid that the download script works by taking a biocredit when it sends the download link straight to your browser. I can't think of any way around this - its how the entire internet's client/server model is based... :/

PS. Just to cheer you up though, i've refunded you a few extra credits. Don't make this a habit now!

ok. thanks for clearing that up.

the first time i hit 'cancel' was because i thought i came to a page with more info about (in this case) the brush set. (when i clicked the thumbnail)

the second time i hit 'cancel' was because i clicked a link i had already clicked and downloaded the file. (confusion, my own fault, really)

could there be in the future, perhaps, a possibility? a "more info" about each download? the description as is now says nothing about compatibility, so i downloaded three custom shapes that did not work in my version of ps

Man1c M0g: thank you, that's very kind of you!
i won't make it a habit, i promise. thanks for the patience

Actually, thats a very good idea. I won't be able to find the version of most of our downloads without extensive testing, but i guess that an 'unknown' field will be better than nothing! :P

files can be split up into smaller fragments and only charge biocredits when all the fragments are downloaded, but automating this is a little more difficult than just saying here are the pieces, go nuts

I think this script could be modified to call the biocredit counter after connection(close), you just wouldn't use the throttling function.

Hope this helps, or steps in the right direction
