Cool BioRUST Needs YOU!

People are always telling me to contact them if I need anything doing for BioRUST. Well... now is the time for those people to put their money where their mouth is! Here's a list of things I need for BioRUST, the qualifications I may need for each task, and what i'm willing to exchange for those skills. Send me a PM if you want to take on any of these tasks and i'll give you further information. I'll update this list regularly as volunteers present themselves and new tasks appear.

Manual Tasks
  • Publicity Manager - I'm REALLY REALLY pants at promoting BioRUST and getting people to come here without being spammy and/or annoying. If someone could take this in hand and deliver real results, i'd be ecstatic!
  • Advertising Procurement Manager - BioRUST mainly obtains run-of-network advertising via tribal-fusion & google, but these are not very profitable and hardly targetted to our audience. We also have the capability to offer proper ad compaigns via our own ad-system, but getting advertisers for this system is very complex and time consuming. I need a professional and capable person to organize this aspect of public relations for me, and pass interested parties onwards for further processing. [PAYS: 10% of all sales obtained. Higher percentages negotiable depending on performance.
  • News Admin - Photoshop and 3D design communities may not be as fast-paced as traditional media news sources, but they still need a decent news and announcements service. The person filling this service would be responsible for placing news-type threads in the announcements forum which would also appear on the main site news. Basic knowledge of HTML is not essential. Skill in journalism/web-browsing definately preferred! [PAYS: Potential for LOTS of posts and +rep points by members.

Design Tasks
  • PDF Author - All our tutorials are available in web format, but we'd like to offer a downloadable PDF too. The person occupying this post will be reponsible for designing and implementing a standardised format for PDF-based tutorials as well as starting to place all our existing tutorial content into PDF formatted documents.

Financial Assistance
OK, i'm being a bit cheeky here, and don't seriously expect anyone to volunteer for these ones. If, however, you *REALLY* feel generous and fancy giving BioRUST a big seasonal gift, here are some options. If you feel like taking us up on any of these, Contact Us for more information. I'm willing to split up the reward if you get a group together for the task.
  • Photopost Branding-Free Option - Just like our vbulletin license, we need to include the copyright statement at the bottom of our galleries to state that they are run by Photopost. Some people find this really quite annoying, but the authors of Photopost allow you to remove this branding for a one-off payment of $99USD.

Well, I am always hesitant to volunteer for anything, but, in this case, I am just simply uncertain that I possess any of the qualifications necessary to administer any of the tasks. Since I am a fairly new member perhaps a little more detail of what was required for the tasks would help.

Also, the financial part, will you take small donations? were broke as is, i dont have alot of clients and the military tends to not pay us as much as my husbands mind and hands is worth.. so small donations ok? Please let me know.

No worries - I'm the first one to admit that the requirements are a tad high. After all, if they were easy or not time consuming, I wouldn't need help with 'em! If you need more detailed info on a task, though, just ask in this thread and i'll provide all the info that I can...

Its all about what you think really! Just trawl through graphics webbys and, if you can't find a link to it in the WebIndex already, just fill in the 'submit url' form and add it! No polls or anything complex like that needed - just keep sites out that aren't very good or feature truckloads of adverts. The hardest thing is probably making the ikkle thumbnail for each link before you submit it... Let me know if you're interested and i'll give precise details.

Oh, and BTW - don't worry about donations. The 'financial assistance' section is really just a list of luxuries which would be nice for Biorust... but are *NOT* essential. If you don't have the money to spare, don't donate and save it for caring for that cute kid of yours. Besides, you kinda donate to me every time you view those ikkle adverts on any page anyway...

Well, not so much as 'take on' yet, as they are much more established than us... but definately 'steal some of the thunder from them'. I have patience and more than enough determination to get things done...

Okay, after lots of thinkin', I believe I could handle the Downloads Admin section. May need a little hand holding and sweet talking for a time, but if you have had no other better qualified takers, I'll give it a try.

Have you been handling all of this on your own? Don't you have a nonBiorRUST life?

Yup! Entirely on my own! Well... I have help from the forum mods at times, but it seems that they are very busy at the moment. *cry*

Thanks for volunteering BTW - i'll send you a 'how-to' via PM soonish...

Hmm, I dunno, I think I can do the t-shirt design for bioRust. :B

If there's any sort of theme or colour scheme you'd want me to go for, let me know. :3 If not, then I'll just do my own thing.

Oh, by the way. What colour would the t-shirts themselves be?
