$_GET refers to a query string, not anything client specific..

Thought I'd forgotten this thread had you guys? Well, I hadn't, and I'm happy to announce that the upgrade to vbulletin v3.5 is now complete, and everything seems to be working at 100% functionality. Of course, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong - I can't be expected to find EVERY bug!
At any rate, the new forums skin is operational, and although the colours are just a tad off, they are close enough for me. I may fiddle with them in time, but for the near future they will do just fine. The forums themselves have been given a bit of an overhaul - there are now fewer categories, which will hopefully mean less confusion. I'm gonna do the same for the gallery categories this weekend too.
After all this is finished I'll be thinking of releasing a nice ikkle newsletter to entice everyone back to BioRUST. In any event, I think the new design looks yummy, and I'm very happy with it!

Okay - I've clarified the categories for the image gallery and simplified things a lot. Now all we need to do is spread the word of BioRUST far and wide with a nice ikkle newsletter! I've got the backend sorted out... now all I have to do is design and write it. Hmmm... anyone out there know of any decent HTML-based newsletters?

Hmm... do you need a design or a backend for the mailer?
Because if you need a backend, you can just use the vbulletin mass email function.
It might be labeled "bulk email", or "email members" on your admin panel, but It should accept HTML to email all the vbulletin members, atleast I know that phpbb and yabb do the mass email thing.
If you need a design, just use the vbulletin template, since you have all the colors worked out, just use the template for the view message function.

You're right - I already have the backend sorted out via the use of Vbulletin. All I really need is a more bandwidth-friendly design for the newsletter (preferably entirely CSS based, apart from maybe a title), and the actual content for the newsletter. Its the final aspect that I'm mainly concentrating on ATM...

Newsletter completed and published!
Well.... that's my little list completed! Time to sit down, pat myself on the back, and bring out the blackberry schnapps!

Great work m0g, however on IE, I am getting Javascript errors with some of the functions, this could be a bug or not.

Same Here. It seems to only present itself on the forums though (i'm thinking an AJAX implementation problem). Either way, I'll check it out and see what I can do soonish!

Problem fixed. It was a clash between a custom javascript and the ones that AJAX uses. Thankfully the custom JS script isn't actually needed in the forums (its part of the tooltips system), so I just edited it out on the forums skin... and problem sorted!
