Vbulletin Skin Shortcut?

Hmmmm. I'm having a thought - instead of designing a new vbulletin skin totally from scratch, how about downloading a pre-done one and customizing it lots? This one looks yummy...

You already have it up so I'm posting late but...

The modifications you did on this skin are awesome. It doesn't have that ambience feel, it feels like a custom skin.

The header fits in perfectly, everything goes together so well.

I think you did a REALLY nice job.

Thanks! I really only used the ambience skin as a base, and because I didn't want to spend an eternity setting up the structure behind the images. In time i'll customize it even further, and you'll probably be hard-pressed to even guess its origins...

It's a really nice modification.

lol, people will see the bottom right corner and go to vb skinz.com to look for your skin but they won't find it! They'll be puzzled lol because it isn't featured there.

I really like what you've done though. The only reason I can tell it's the ambience skin is from the borders around the forum categories.

Also, you should probably change the settings so your member group (admin) has a different color instead of italic black. Maybe a nice light blue color?

Heee - yeah, but the vbskinz link is also affiliated, so if they decide to buy anything there, it gives me $5. Its a bit cheeky, of course, but i'll never say no to the almighty dolla!

As for the different colours for different ranks, i'll give it a whirl and see what I can come up with. In time this skin will be totally unique (including forum category borders), and then maybe i'll consider offering different skins via the control panel. Its just finding the time at the moment. Still, the odd 10 mins here and there sure adds up over time...

Yeah I understand the 10 minute thing. That's how I'm getting my layout for v.4 done. Right now I'm kind of stuck, I don't know what to do lol.
