ToolTips Beta!
I've added a beta version of my custom ToolTips system to the tutorials system. If you have IE/Netscape/Opera you will now see the odd green links here and there interspersed within the general tutorial content. Just hover your mouse over these links to see the potential of the system.
Its not finished yet, and some tutorials do need rewriting to take advantage of the ToolTip keywords, but all feedback regarding compatability and general functionality will be greatly appreciated.
PS. Oh, and no, it doesn't work yet in Firefox. Maybe soon...

Nifty! It's much quicker than intellitxt seemed to be. I noticed some of the tool icons don't match the links.
Namely: Rectangular Marquee Tool has the Elliptical Marquee Tool icon.
Is this intentional to prevent having so many icons?

Nope, thats a bug (now fixed)! Please report all such bugs and i'll get them fixed right away! I aim to get all the Photoshop/Imageready/Illustrator tools into the system and the tutorials amended with the appropriate keywords before it comes out of beta.

Note: Tooltips are not working on Safari either.

Nope, its only IE/NS/Opera until I can learn enough Javascripting to augment the scripts.
Note: Firefox may never work due to its REALLY dodgy implementation of javascripting. Other browsers shouldn't be a problem though...

Perhaps a form of preprocessing at the PHP level could ditch the javascript all together. Just have words replaced with images and perhaps a cross-browser tip box before you send it to the browser, it would not slow the display of the pages down too terribly, and would be more cross-browser friendly for everyone, even me, who is a poor safari user.

Its certainly possible! Just suggest a script that offers the same pop-up box functionality and i'll see about implementing it...

The only issue is that I cannot see the functionality.. lol.. since no browser I use can show it, perhaps I will use Opera later and see what I can see.

hey Man1c M0g, can you share the script you used to get the tooltips to work? I'm looking for a tooltip script that automatically finds keywords in a page and generates the tooltips by grabbing the definitions off of a db or text file.

Well, its essentially just a variation of several popular tooltips scripts floating around on the web. Its very close to this one actually: JS-ToolTip
