No interest?

I created a new 1 on 1 battle in the battles section. Essentially the idea is a you win you defend you title deal. To start things off I suggested the 2 entrants design a wallpaper. The only stipulation is that it has to include a waterfall.

Nearly 2 days without an entrant. Must be everyone hates waterfalls.

I have learned to just wait to join a battle until I can submit my work at same time because it seems I get booted from battles if I don't submit right away even though there could many days left on the ticker.

On this battle... trying to decide how to use a waterfall effectively... not sure I have a photo that I can use that will work in landscape format

Similar problem here: I would join but I don't have a single waterfall photo in my portfolio (and I am too "artistically challenged" to draw or paint one from scratch).

I like the idea Stiney, keep going with it.
i was thinking of entering, but I dont like to enter battles until someone else is entered or reserved a spot.
when I first joined, I entered several battles and was the only one. as a result, I "won" by default. since it didnt go up for a vote, all my hard work was not seen. (I worked really long on "advertising fun", "weird fruit", and "makeover"" but no one ever saw them.) it still counts in my overall precentage but as a loss. not that im being competitive or anything, it just sucks to see hard work go to nothing. since im in the battle to share my work and put it up against other peoples hard work, it makes sense for me to bide a little time before digging in too deeply. If its a battle im really intrested in i will start working on it and put in a reservation as soon as i see other intrest.

maybe I will look and see if I have any waterfalls. if not, I anxiously await the next battle in the round. perhaps there can be more than 2 contestants?

Maybe you should post them in the Gallery if you still have them - then we can all see them.

damnit!

Something is wring with my pc, I tried to upload my entry today, and according to biorust at that time it was uploaded. But now I get a message that states that I didn't upload my entry within the time frame, so that my spot is gone.

Well I will just try to re-upload it then, I guess.... I do hope this is just something minor. Well I have another go the coming morning.

Stiney: I understand the initial concept of this battle (you've set it up and you've devised the spec - the waterfall thing), but I'm confused as to what happens next - when the battle's won? Are you going to set up the next battle (and every battle after that), or does that task fall to the winner of the previous one?

Essentially thats the idea tamlin although perhaps it'd be easiest if the winner started a new battle themselves. I figured we'd work that out after someone won.

Well now, you go away for a week or so and things just fall apart don't they. Perhaps I'll try this a different way. Check the battles forum for an different take...
