Some opinion for Battles system

last 3 or 4 days ago i had submitted my artwork in the battles titled 'mania'..and i won by default..the problem is that its not the artwork i want to submit..i accidentally choose the wrong artwork when browsing the file to upload (next time i will use thumbnail view instead list) with no effect and other stuff..its just plain artwork..now..i cannot modify or do anything with it..my opinion is..give participants an option to modify, forfeit or whatever..they can do anything they like before the submit date is over..after that..nothing he/she can do..well..thats what i thought..
well..next time i will submit my artwork carefully not just click all the 'yes' button without checking anything ..

I'm with you on that.
also seems to be nothing worse than winning by default.
I think that even if only one entry is revieved than it should at least go to a comments stage.

Well, of course I'm new here and may be talking out of turn, , but it seems to me that the available slots for the current battle filled up 3-4 days ahead of the cut off date and then everything just sat. Is there a reason why a battle can't go live, say, 24 hours after the last slot is filled or is there a reason I am not aware of for delaying the start until the original set date.

the only thing i can think of is that perhaps someone had made a reservation, but i think those only last 24 hours.

(Alfred Hitchcock designed our batles section. nothng like building up suspense, especially if you're a contestant.)
