Free-for-all: King of the Hill

I've never competed in any of the battles over here, so please forgive me for what may be stupid questions. The overview reads as follows:

Quote:
Design Brief: Okay this is a simple battle... Find two renders of your choosing from PlanetRenders.net and create a 500w x 200h pixel signature that says SM in the bottom left corner. Choose from the following color schemes: Red/Black/Grey Green/Black/Grey Yellow/Black/Grey White/Black/Blue
So...

1) As long as I'm only using only two renders, one of the color schemes and stick to the 500x200 criteria, anything else (i.e. blends, filters, etc.) goes?

2) Since the renders have to come from PlanetRenders, would I still need to attach the originals to the finished sig in order to compete?

3) I know SM has to be in the lower left (I'm presuming as a makeshift watermark). Is other text permitted?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Chugs.. yeap just do what it says and if you want to add somehting else to the mix do it..this is your work and we vote on something we like.. its not like this is work for hire and these are the client specifics.
although this brief does read a bit like this.
I often wonder if some smarty pants isnt trying to just get themselves a free freelancer.

personaly i would stamp this one with "sample" lol

Thank you for the input, Stormgirl. I'm glad that your take on it mirrored my hopes. I thought about including your sample stamp idea, but with the number of freebie sigs I've done over the years on what I'd consider my home forum, I figured what's one more going to hurt? If someone wants this one, they can take it -- I'll recognize it. It'll be interesting to see how I fair out though. The sigs that I normally do are automotive-themed and don't have the level of effects that it looks like SiMPGFX might be after. Guess we'll find out in about a week. Thanks again!
