Mural Test

Ok guys heres the plan.

I really wanna try creating one of these murals with you guys hence the reason for the thread.

Firstly I need someone to join me (just 1 person for this one as it is a test after all!) HenZen showed interest before so maybe he would like to join me in my venture :P?

OK, so the rules are:

Its a 10 tile mural.

Each person will create a tile for the mural, Each tile will be 400x400 pixels. leaving a finished piece of 400 x 4000 pixels

You can use the last 75 pixels of the other persions tile to blend into your tile.

Maybe in the future there will be themes for the murals (such as colour or a subject) but for this one I'll say that anything goes.

I will post the starting tile once I have interest. and also a link to the mural as it goes along.

Here is the line so far :

tile 1 : Wombie
tile 2 : Chrisseee
tile 3 : Notjustgraphics
tile 4 : Henzen
tile 5 : Arb
tile 6 : Chamenas
tile 7 : stiney51
tile 8 : unleash
tile 9 : Arb
tile 10 : Bub

right well heres the first tile


you have to create a new 400 x 400 pixel tile with must blend with this one when placed side by side. you have 75 pixels on the right hand side of this image with which to blend with! Once you done post your image up here!

This is a pretty neat idea. I wasn't completely following you on this idea in your other post. I could see this being an open thing that could be pretty awesome.

well, i thought " notjustgraphics will post the second one...will there be an order, because if not someone will post the next tile on which the other is still working on, and the so on and on and on.

you started it, what do you think about giving this mural an order..

Errrrm well to be honest i figured it would have just 2 people and be kind of a test, hence the name :P

But it seems like a pretty popular concept so I guess there shud be somekind of order.

Notjustgraphics have you started your tile yet? if not would it be possible for you to continue from the one that Chrisseeee posted? if notjustgraphics has started working on it then his will have to have priority.

Also if we could try and get the turnaround time of each tile down to a couple of days maximum that would be great.

I think for this to succeed you'll need to organise it along the same lines as the aforementioned Exquisite Corpse exercises, i.e.:

• Decide on a unifying "theme" for your mural
• Decide on how many "tiles" it will consist of
• Select a volunteer to be assigned to each "tile"
• Select a volunteer to assemble the finished "tiles"

otherwise it's going to be all over the place.

this was supposed to be a 2 man test each doing 5 tiles if it worked out my plan was to start more with themes and things, thats why i didn't put a theme on this one. the assembling of the tiles i will do as it progress'.


We'll stick with the idea of 10 tiles as in the original idea, so at the min we have

tile 1 : wombie
tile 2 : Notjustgraphics
tile 3 : Henzen
tile 4 :
tile 5 :
tile 6 :
tile 7 :
tile 8 :
tile 9 :
tile 10 :

if you'd like a go just post and i'll edit the list. Also i'll shift them all down to include chrissee in 2nd tile position if notjustgraphics hasn't started just because of the slightly messy start :P. Que jumping won't work in future tho.
