Battle Entry Question

I'm not quite clear on entering the battles. I've 'entered' a battle, but there was no option to upload my entry. Do I wait until there are other entries before I can upload? How will I know when I can upload?

yup you have to wait before the maximum number of participants enter and then u will receive an email to post your entry. if in a time limit (don't know exactly how long) the number of participants isn't reached u will still get the email to post your entry. and then the voting begins after the other participants post their entries too. why?

I wonder if it would be better to submit your entry when you enter the battle instead of waiting for others to agree to the battle and upload later. If you submit your entry when you enter, then the voting can begin as soon as the preset number of entrants has been met - instead of waiting the full length of time for for people who may have forgotten or can't fulfill their obligation, to upload their images.

Or have I completely misconstrued the entire battle process here?

It's not completly treu what's said here. First you enter in a battle, this means that youre name will be linked o the battle. Then you will go and design/ create an image corrosponding to the battle, if it's finished go to the battle and then you will be able to upload your image. You do not need to wait for others to " join" the battle, because there are 1on1 duels wich are won due the lack of an second artist

I've entered, finished my entry but I don't see anywhere to upload. Last time I entered, I had to wait until I received an email to upload my image.

Hmm, very strange.....
I won a battle some days ago because the second player didn't enter anything. And the next time i won an battle because there was no "opposition" so. But it can be that youre telling the true(i dont believe else) Because i upload my images mostly rather late....

The battle system is run by a rather simple "state machine", although I can perfectly imagine that without knowing its inner workings it can be quite confusing. Here are the steps that each battle goes through:

Step 1
The battle is advertised as open in the Open battles section of this Web site. From there, people can (pre-)enter it, indicating that they are interested in taking part into it. After a maximum of two weeks, if enough people are interested, the battle goes to step 2. Else, the battle is outright canceled due to lack of participation.

Step 2
This is when you receive the e-mail and can actually upload your work. Once again, there is a maximum of two weeks for everyone that joined in step 1 to upload. After the deadline, one of two things can happen. If only one participant has actually bothered to upload anything, then that person gets the win "by default". Otherwise, the battle goes to step 3 (voting) and so on. Of course, if there has been no upload at all, the battle is canceled...

I have a question, I entered a battle and i'm trying to upload my file. Battle rule stated that I should include my original picture. How do I upload 2 files in the battle? Battle page said that you can't modify your entry once you submit it. Help please!

Include your original image next to your entry image (side by side or top & bottom) together as one image.

Thank you very much! I'm done with it. I'm trying to upload, now my problem is that there's a problem with the Biorust server (technical difficulties) so I can't upload my file. *sigh*

Hmmmm. Check your file format - thats often the source of problems with uploading.

- I did check it. The rule is either to submit a png or jpeg. I saved my file both as a jpeg and as png. But they both don't want to work. *sigh*
