Latest edition from PCMag featuring their favorite digital imaging apps. No surprize that Photoshop heads the top of the list. High marks for the CS3 beta version and they anticipate it will help maintain the program's top of the heap ratings.
For those that can not afford the hefty price tag of PS, try Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo XI it is listed as good at a sub-$100 pricetag.
The Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 1.0 is rated as a top-notch app for those who take digital imaging seriously. Lightroom provides digital photographers an excellent way to integrate a PC into the workflow. Just need a way to organize and edit shots taken on your point-and-click? Check out Sharpcast and Phanfare, PCMag says that both are excellent tools to help users create albums both on and offline. But, if your are looking to do some high-end digital painting, the Painter series is the program for you.
