Alive... yet horridly addicted!

Sorry that i've been away so long, but I've become horridly addicted to World of Warcraft. Anyway, despite the urge to delve right now into that very life-consuming game, I've brought you several new downloads, numerous platform upgrades (i.e. server speed improvements), and a few additions to the webindex. Coming in future i'll bring a few more tutorials, some forums software upgrades, and more of the yummy goodness that you've come to expect from me over the years.. provided that I can resist the urge to upgrade my character's maul in the meantime...

lol I used to be into WoW heavily for about 6 months then I decided it's time to quit. I would be up 4 in the morning getting to the best farming spots before anyone else, missed out on a lot of real life things. :/ Raiding got boring, I didn't see any point to spending 4 hours in BWL to get an epic when all it did was boost my ego. I'm a pvp type person and BG's aren't really fun imo, they seem kinda dull and the world pvp blizzard introduced was horrible. so I used what money I had from selling my account and bought Photoshop. Now I'm here.

Couple of friends are trying to get me back into WoW but it's not happening. I might consider it when The burning crusade comes out.

I played EverQuest for a couple of years in high school and found myself doing the same thing pscoke. Staying up until 4, just to wake up at 7am for class was very draining and unhealthy.

Now a friend has me playing Guild Wars again, which is great. I still enjoy it but I don't feel guilty if I don't play it for a while because there is no monthly fee. I find my life is much better this way.

Yeah, I play a little Guild Wars too. The no monthly fee is nice, makes it easy for the casual gamer.

Indeed, i play it somethimes when i got nothing better to do
And i must agree on the paid part, but the patches for guildwars are charged so you need to pay those on a yearly basis(otherwise the servers would get empty)
so.....

But as i said before, good to have you back.......the tuturial part has i think two new tut's. Maybe worth it to pop over and tell them what you think of there tuts...(one is mine really)

This conversation is making me feel old. Back in college I got addicted to a couple of text based "mods" that were pretty much the birth of games like world of warcraft. This was 10 years or so ago and before this "internet" thing really took off. It was all done through telnet and was on one of the old green screen monitors with no graphics.

I even gained so much experience points in one of them, that I because a "wizard" and got to code my own world. I'd get home from a party and be up playing that until the sun came up (of course if it weren't that, it was the newly released Sega Genesis system).

Looking back, I'm not exactly ashamed of this, but I'm not exactly proud of it either... Now I'l lucky if I can get an hour free to myself, so no chance of me getting into WoW.
