Mind the Mess! *UPDATED*

Ok, everything is now back up and fully operational. I wish I could tell you what struck down the old server, but the technical guys are still looking at it as their 'highest priority' (lord, I DARE NOT IMAGINE how long it takes for things on a low priority). As a consequence I moved forward my planned move to a newer server at a different ISP... and here we are!

Due to the sudden and unpreventable nature of our move, we lost a little bit of data, namely:

- 3 days of gallery entries
- 2 hours worth of posts
- 4 New resources in the downloads section
- 1 tutorial (Turbulent Water).
- Our old .HTACCESS file (hence the wierdness in the webindex)

Thankfully the resources and tutorial will be immediately recoverable once the original server comes back and I clone the data across. The posts and gallery entries are lost forever, I'm afraid, as keeping them would involve disabling the forums for several more days... and I know that would drive you all nuts!!!

The good news is that our new server is MUCH faster, has double the RAM, and an UNLIMITED 100mbit connection! I've increased everyone's Biocredit starting-point to 25 creds to show you how much I love ya all.

The only thing this new server is missing so far is a PHP accelerator... but I'm working on that, so the pages should load even faster soon enough. In the meantime, enjoy the speedier services... and let me know what you think!

Good to see you back on again. I've been trying each day to see if I can find you. Big suprise a few minutes ago when BioRUST sprang up on page! Wahooo. Good luck with getting up to running speed again...I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

I know you had a sh... a f... - a BAD weekend, what with knocking over your server and burning out your DIMMs, and you have my condolences. Cheers on getting it up and running, again, so soon.

Just noticed that you're not online and am somewhat relieved - it means that you're actually taking time out to do stuff like eating and maybe even getting some sleep! It must have been quite a weekend for you... Thanks for all that you (and the other hard-working Biorust organizers) are doing to keep Biorust going - I really appreciate it. It's great to see all the talent, ideas and resources of the Biorust members!

I had no internet connection for the last month. And when I finally got it back after my third! modem, there was no BioRUST . I thought something was wrong with my connection again, but it seems to be logical explanations for (almost) everything!

Oh, thank goodness. I have DT's, I'm sure the shakes and stuttering will stop in a few days. I was LOST without myBiorust fix. Glad we areback up, thanksMog for all your hard work!!!

FINAL UPDATE: Several more hours work and I am very happy to report that BioRUST is now back to its old self. We have recovered the lost tutorial and resources, made all pages fully functional once again, and even set up our daily automatic backup system again. All that's left is setting up the SPF mail-proofing system again... but that'll be a breeze.

My most heartfelt thanks go out to you all for being so supportive during this stressful time. It really made the work much less daunting and, hell, even fun at times. I think I owe you all a beer!
