Skyscraper Ad Needed
NOTICE: THIS COMPETITION IS NOW OVER
Hiya peeps! We are getting quite a bit of unused ad space on BioRUST, so I'm gonna set up the scripts to run a secondary campaign in which our banner is in an exchange with other sites. Nowt like a bit of free advertising I guess! To get started, though, I need a 120px wide by 600px tall image to be the BioRUST 'advert'. I'm pants at creating advertisements, though, so I'd appreciate a little help.
So I'll make this a little competition - post your creations in this thread, and I'll pick the best suitable one and give the creator a nice +5 rep bonus. What do ya say?
Winning Entry: It was very hard to pick the winner from this competition as there were so many good entries. In the end it came down to a decision between Jimmy1012's submission and that of Neolokie. For the final decision I got a panel of 3 people together and it was decided that Jimmy1012 had the winning entry. So... well done m8! You have now been given your much deserved +5 rep boost, and will probably see your ad floating around banner exchanges from time to time... I've given everyone who entered a +1 rep bonus too. Thanks peeps!

I'll give it a shot, besides I am out of school this thursday/friday, so I will have the time. *After glancing at the site, to concider it in ad form I wonder what font the letters, "biorust," at the top of the page is in.*

Any kind of deadline on this? I'd love to work on one, just got to finish some work for classes first.

Hmmm. No real deadline... but I guess I should set one. Lets set a deadline of Monday 14th November.

I have returned! Again! Briefly!
But anyhow, nobody's done anything, so I figure I'll have to kickstart this thing with my impressive l337 photoshopping sk1llz... I give you 30 minutes worth of boredom, in 600x120 pixels! Or maybe they were the other way around! No matter, I am too sleepy to think.
In any case, maybe this'll at least give someone an idea or two?
Skyscraper of dooooom!

Here is a first run at an entry:

I'll update if I end up making it any better.
This version assumes a simple border around the advertisement on the hosts site.
If not, I can add a small border.

The exchanges set a limit of 25kb. Sooo, the smaller, the better really!

Any chance of you posting the PSD of the header image there Mog? Hopefully with everything on it's own layer for easy cutting.

Here ya go m8 - A couple of PSDs with the necessary graphics. The actual layers extend waaaaay beyond the canvas, so remember to expand it if you want the whole layers.
Oh, and before I forget, the banner can be RICH MEDIA if you like that sort of thing. Flash banners look cool, but don't forget that the limit is 20kb, and the banner cannot include sound or excessive (i.e. annoying) animation.
There's some really excellent creations so far here - keep up the good design work peeps!
