Maybe not spamming in the strictest sense, but definitely posting multiple, off topic messages to gain BioCredits. Hence, -2 rep and duplicate posts removed.

I'm sure it says somewhere quite clearly and I missed it but just what do you do with these points other than accumulate them? Do you spend them elsewhere on the site or something?

I like this system. It gives any newbs the initiative to hang out. Is it a custom script you guys created especially for BIOCredits or can this system be used on other forums?

@Yusecki
yep you accumulate them, and you can spend them on things in the recource section of the site, you know downloadeble brushes and things. But as tamlin said, if I could sell those points on E-bay I would be a millionair
So you can mainly accumulate them!!

I think you should be able to donate credits to other users, rather like a Paypal donation. This could be as a result of a helpful critique, etc. I have plenty of them to go round and i'm never going to use them all, and I feel that is a flaw in the credits system. Once you have enough, there is no point in collecting more, and therefore there is no incentive to contribute further. Perhaps certain resources could have different 'prices' according to their popularity. Not only would this encourage people to contribute more, but it would also relieve the servers if a single file is being downloaded too much.

I would guess that the most frequent contributors to the Forums and Gallery all have more credits than they're ever going to use, but I would also guess that gaining credits has ceased to become important to them. Certainly, in my case, the reasons I contribute are because I enjoy the interaction with other members, I like to help people and I like to exhibit my work. The BioCredits system is good because it prevents non-members and new members from downloading everything in one go, and encourages people to join and contribute to the community, but once most people get "hooked" I suspect that the issue of BioCredits becomes irrelevant - I don't even know how many I've got without looking. (Ooh - 7245! Fancy that!)

I Must Agree....
Boundaries have to be set at any place that offers so much insight! Thank you for coming up with such a neat way to do so!

This actually sounds like a good idea, either this, or we have to get a lot more resources on here What about other kinds of resources? For example I have a ton of useful javascripts, php files, dreamweaver extensions etc that I wrote myself, that may be useful to other people that we could also have here.

That sounds like a very good idea - how do-able is it, M0g?

Very easy actually! If you want to introduce a new category, get together 25 downloads and i'll open up the new section for you (they don't have to be your downloads, just ones you have permission to distribute). The minimum quantity is just to ensure that it won't look empty, and not to waste my time amending the scripts.
I'll be far more inclined to open sections that reflect the rest of Biorust's content, so Illustrator resources and PHP code will be most appreciated!

Yes, as much as I've enjoyed the amount of content so far, I definitely wish there was more! :3
