Distributed Computing Poll Outcome

Well, the distributed computing poll (Distributed Computing) is now over, and I am happy to announce that Folding@Home has won by a clear margin! I have already started a team for Biorust, with an #id of 45784. You can click here to view the stats, view current contributing members and, of course, download the windows application itself.

NB. To the uninitiated, Folding@Home is a background application that uses up spare CPU cycles to work on molecular protein folding (which has definate applications in medicine, etc). You have no need to worry about it using up your system resources - when you are playing games, rendering, or anything else that uses up the CPU, F@H will shut down until your system becomes free again.

Yea my lappy was averaging 4 minutes per frame while my desktops average 1 minute per frame. So I turned the lappy off -- not worth it.
