Can anyone help me?

If anyone is able to help me with a problem I am having ... It would be GREATLY appreciated as I am currently rushed for time and really in need of your help.

My problem is in regards to a tutorial. Basically I am having problems applying a stroke to a path. I have done it before with this version of photo shop, and I am unaware as to what I am doing wrong ... basically The stroking option is Grayed out and not available ... as if I am not properly selecting the path ... or the layer ...

But i know I am, and I know fairly well how to navigate Photoshop, So i am just out of Ideas.

Any help is greatly appreciated as I am getting amazingly frustrated.

This would happen to me sometimes when I drew the path incorrectly.

Are you using Photoshop 7?

When you click on the pen tool, up at the top there is 3 little boxes with pictures of a rectangle up at the top.

One has little boxed at the corners, one has a pic of the pen tip on it, the next one is a plain rectangle with a line drawn around it.

That is where you need to choose 'draw path'. My guess is you have one of the other ones selected such as 'fill pixels' or 'shape layers'.

Just click the one in the middle everytime you choose the pen tool and you'll be set.

If he is not correct, you could always make it a selection then stroke it.

You were right, My photoshop (7) auto selects the wrong one, and i never knew to look there. i knew it was something simple.
