Question...

I have been trying to figure this out FOREVER, and I figured who would know better than you people. :P Hehe.

Well, my problem is putting gradients and stuff on fonts. Kinda like the thumbnail for downloading a gradient on this site.

<-- Like that.

Can anyone explain it to me?

i think i can

When you create your font click off and go to the layers tool bar. You should see a little F icon called the "layer style" icon. Click that then go to blending options. Click gradient overlay and you should see many different commands. The one your intereted to get that effect as seen in that link is the gradient section. Click there choose a color pattern you like or make your own. Just fiddle with it for a bit. I imagien there is a couple people here who can explain more indepth but that is basically the jist of it.

hope that helps

Kitty I created that fontw/gradient by going to Layer>Layer Style>Gradient Overlay. Once there you can choose the gradient you want from the drop down menu, create your own or load more gradients from file. You can adjust the blending mode, style (I used radial in the pic) and angle in this menu box as well. If you need any more help PM me. Welcome by the way!

lol, it is such an easy app. I some times rastersize the text layer then create a new layer, tehn give that new layer a gradient and then set the gradient layer to a blending mode (cant remember, wich one), layer styles are easier though.
