Creating a pencil shading brush

Hi,

I've recently made a couple of brushes in PhotoShop...

(My first! and I followed a tutorial precisely. I've been using PhotoShop for a good few years now - I just never got around to making brushes before - so I'm not a complete newbie at PhotoShop, just at brush making)

So I saw a thread on making a pencil shader, but it's been closed, and anyway there are no tips or instructions on making a pencil shading brush.

I wondered if anyone had any ideas on this?

I have managed to make a sort of approximation to such a shading brush myself but I wondered if anyone else had any other way to do it, or a different result... Just curious, and eager to learn more, as this one isn't great:



1) There are some not nice blips around two of the brush's edges and some hard edges there too, even though I used a feather of 10 on it - which seems to have worked nicely on the other edges. Can I cure that?

2) Plus, how come the first tap on my tablet produces the small one and the 2nd tap produces that much larger one? Why? What's going on with it?

Is that a feature of the brush? can I stop that?
