Antique scroll paper and seamless texture

Hi folks,

I'm just about to start creating a WordPress theme and I'm just working out the look that I'd like to achieve. The look I'd like to achieve is a fantasy/medieval style. So basically I want each blog post to look like it was written on old antique paper.

I found this image on iStockPhoto and I am thinking of purchasing it to use for the texture. But before I do that, I'd like to know if the texture of the paper could be used for the purpose I've outlined i.e. a background texture for blog posts so that they look like they're written on old antique paper. Can it be used seamlessly?

IF you guys got better ideas for how I can make my blog posts look like they're written on antique paper i.e. the background texture then feel free to share.

One option might be to make your own image in Photoshop (cheaper, too!).
There are lots of tutorials for antique/distressed paper and parchment out there:

True but it will need to be seamless for repeating vertically.

yes it is possible, but I would make sure there is no distinguishing marks on the paper you use, as it will be more obvious when it's repeated. so keep your tonal changes to a minimum when creating a repeating texture such as paper...
