Lightbulb Help Retouching a Photo

I started with:

Someone helped me get to this:

Got some info on applying the new one over the old to make the lips look more real

but now I cannot seem to figure anything out with the eyes. This is not a high resolution photo so there is not a lot of data to work with but there must be somehting that I can do to further enhance this photo. Any suggestions?

Well, it depends on what you are aiming for, if you prefer the commercial look or just a small touch-up. I would suggest you to: just strengthen the eye colour a bit and maybe give them some highlights I think that would do it!

In addition to what Kenneth has already said, I'd suggest possibly lightening the whole eye area a little. Try using the Dodge tool set to Midtones with a very low Exposure setting (say about 15%) and use a large soft brush to build up the effect.

I would as the same question as Kenneth; What exactly are you trying to achieve?

There are so many different ways and looks that can be done, I always say Vague questions get vague answers, and I think one of the reasons you may not have as many responses as one may like is because your question isn't detailed enough.

Saying all that, in the first retouched pic, she would make a cool vampire, she's got that look, I could see her in blade trinty lol!

As all the others have said, I think the eyes look dead, consequently the picture looks flat, the lip colour does not suit the girls complexion, I would go with a more natural dark red.

I think the eyebrow could do with lifting slightly, and I can still see blemishes, so I would go back and work on that a bit more carefully.

The face looks flat because you have removed almost all the shadows, this always makes the face look false, I would try to bring back a little more of the shadow.

You could also try colouring the eyelids and apply eyeliner, because she looks like she's half way through applying makeup.

Another tip is to cut the image up, i.e. place sections of the image onto different layers.

regards lee

You've already brightened and colored the iris but, as has been said, perhaps a little bit of brightness added to the whites of the eyes may help.

Also, sharpening will work wonders. I'd suggest duplicating the layer and sharpening the hell out of it. Then, add a Layer Mask, fill it with black and grab a paintbrush and paint with white only in the areas that need to be sharpened, like the entire eye area and along her right cheek. You can, then, reduce the Opacity of this layer to lessen the effect so that it's not overwhelming.

I agree that the bright pink lipstick doesn't seem to work very well with this image.

Also, you've brightened up the teeth, but there is still some yellowing present. I'd select the teeth area, add a Hue & Saturation Adjustment Layer (which will come with it's own Mask in the shape of the teeth) and click, at the top, where it says Master, and choose Yellow, then reduce the Saturation. This way, you don't get rid of all of the color, just the very noticeable yellowness.

Last, but not least, there is a pretty hard edge on the inside of the lips. A couple of swipes with the Blur Tool should help that.

Good job, though, so far, especially on getting rid of the scar and other blemishes.

Use the Dodge tool around the reas you want to make better or increase definition.
