Free FITS plugin for Photoshop

Ever wondered how they create some of those awesome space photos of nebulas etc.? Some of them are simply rendered from files known as FITS files. These files hold a ton of data I guess and with the free plugin... you can create your own space masterpieces... though its a bit involved process to get something really dazzeling IMHO.

The plugin, example pics and more info can be found here

have fun... I have yet to find time to whip any up myself but... its on my plate for sometime here soon

so it looks like you start with an existing image from nasa/hubble and can maipulate all the standard hue, saturation, contrast etc. as well as the standard transform tools scale, stretch etc.

It dosent look like there is much creativity beyond that. it dosent look like you could change the structure of the nebula or start one from scratch.

perhaps im wrong.

kinda... it looks like you might even have to piece together parts of an image to create one large image but yeah... you can't really create your own per say... but it looks like sort of an art form just getting the images to look like some in their gallery or like you see in books, magazines etc.

I thought it would be nice for creating backgrounds to use in other images etc.
