If you look hard enough you'll find the answer

I knew there was some way of cheating PS to do tone mapping and I have hunted high and low for ages. I know there someone reading this saying

I wouldn't call it "cheating PS to do tone mapping" - those are the built-in tone-mapping controls that I mentioned in this post: http://forums.biorust.com/general-di...html#post50622 (Help with software)
However, in my opinion the example given in that tutorial is horribly garish and artificial-looking, which kind of bears out my objections to Photoshop's tone-mapping tools.

Agree the imaging is garish. But these extras are another bow if you can use it. I agree tone mapping within PS is pretty bad when you consider the price tag on it.
