Apparently Topaz is a gemstone, just as you have found on google. The color is not independent, meaning that it can be a variety of colors. I have, however, mostly seen it is a deep blue - bluish green - color.

Here is an excerpt from a website I'll give you a link too:

Color: Pure topaz is colorless, but it also occurs in a broad range of colors: yellow, blue, pink, peach, gold, green, red, and brown. Some natural yellow stones are heated to become permanently pink (pinked topaz).

Encyclopedia of Gemstones - Topaz. Topaz's color, characteristics of Topaz, varieties of Topaz, mystical power of Topaz, healing ability of Topaz, Topaz's history

So yea, it's a gemstone. I think the color your friend was referring to was bluish green.

Color descriptor are subjective ask three people what Teal is you will probably get three descriptions.Numerical values are not subject to this oddity. For Example Pantone 485 is a color formula for a specific color Tell the print shop Pantone 485 the will mix that color according to a recognized standard formula.ICC color profiles work the same way .It is a agreed upon standard for a specific color. The science of color is quite intense.Regards

Hi there and welcome to BioRUST. If you're not talking about the gemstone, maybe this link will help:

In that case, I'm guessing you mean this: Topaz Labs LLC - Topaz Vivacity

I don't know but i think I think November's birthstone is (Yellow) Topaz, and December's is a Turquoise. The Citrine and Turquoise are alternative birthstones for November. The alternative birthstone for December is the Blue Topaz.
