I just upgraded to 1gb ram, and it works like heaven, so I still donīt understand why you want more. If you just like to optimize, then I think Telos suggestion will work fine!

I have 1Gb on my laptop too. If you ever need to do some kind of high resolution bad ass project those with more than 300Mb and crap you'll realise that 1Gb is not even close to enough as it will take you like 5 mins to render a simple textbox. IM NOT even going to mention how long it takes just to save the damn project...
