Generally, print shops require 300 dpi and in CMYK. If you have a specific printer in mind, they probably have a template they want you to use. If you're doing more than a one-off, you'll probably be using QuarkXpress or another program to set up the DVD Cover and the printer will probably have a template specifically for that as well.

ok means few companies use their own premade tempate to designs the covers or else.. i never use QuarkXpress but i heard about that... but what about the printer. How do they print just like we print our document normally or is there any different method ? i think few companies trained their employers as well bcoz most of the ppl like me dnt know how to use printer

You will need to contact the printer and ask them about their templates - many printers have them available from their websites. You'll also need to ask the printer about their printing methods.

I'm not a member of deviantart.com, so I don't know much about that. You'll have to ask the deviantart.com artist whos art your're interested in.
Unless someone else on BioRust can answer that question?

A lot of people on deviantart sell their artwork through prints that you can order from the website. I have never done it myself, but it seems to be pretty popular.

A lot of people also post their work in high resolution, if you intend to use some of the work, then I would suggest contacting the person first for permission. Usually a good idea with any online images unless you are the only person who will ever see the end result, but even then you should credit the original user.

Not sure I understood your question correctly or not, but I hope the info helps. Also, Moods is right about the printers, many use different formats to print (depending on the number of printed pieces and the format you want them printed in). The may or may not have a template, but they can direct you as to the size and format they would like the files in.

Again, check with the printer, but generally speaking, make sure all your colors are set to CMYK and all DPI is set to 300 for any print use. As for format, most printers take a PDF, some take TIFF files, JPGs (less rocommended) native PSD files, most will work with a variety of options to find youself someone you trust to print everything and see what their requirements are.
