That's odd - how did you uninstall PS? Did you do a proper Uninstall via Add/Remove Programs, or did you just delete the folder?

If you're running Windows XP, you could try restoring your system to a Restore Point before you removed PS. This won't restore deleted images or documents or other types of user-created files, but if Brushes are classed as system files, you should be able to get them back.

Tamlin, I am not sure that he knows that he could get the Brushs from Photoshop's directory. DJ Mag, if you do not know this already, navigate to your old Photoshop's directory [C:\Program Files\Adobe\[Version of Adobe Photoshop\Presets\Brushs] and copy everything in that folder. Once done, navigate to the directory of Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended [C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3\Presets\Brushs\] and right-click in an empty space, then click paste. I hope that I have been able to help you!

Good luck -
Neo

Ah yes - that's true!
dj Mag: Follow Neo's instructions before you try anything I suggested - it could be that your brushes are still there - just in the old PS folder.

Select Start > Help and Support

On the Help and Support Center screen, click the link marked Undo changes to your computer with System Restore (it's in the section marked Pick a task)

Make sure Restore my computer to an earlier time is selected, then click Next

You'll see a calendar with some dates marked in bold - these are Restore Points. Select the one closest to the time before you uninstalled PS, then click Next, then Next again.

Hope it works!

PS: I moved this thread to the Photoshop forum, as I think that's the proper place for it.

Please go into details...

Example -
Were you able to find the directory of your old Adobe Photoshop? If so, were you able to locate Presets<Brushs?

Glad you got your brushes back - hope you've learned the value of keeping good backups! Like you, I learned the hard way a couple of years ago when my hard disk died and I lost everything - unfortunately, most of it wasn't backed-up, and my disk was completely unrecoverable.

Don't know why your CS3 setup file is corrupted - are you installing from a CD, or via a download? If it's a download, try re-downloading. If it's a fault with the CD your best bet would be to contact Adobe Tech Support.

If you mean Adobe InDesign, it's a DTP (desktop publishing) application.

Photoshop Brushes

Ugh! I know how frustrating it can be having to replace your collection of presets! But as another poster suggesed, the brushes should still be on your computer's files.
