Brown Color HELP!!!!

ok, I probably sound like an idiot, but oh well.

Ive been working on some photo restoration and manipulations and cant seem to get a brown color from color balance or curves. Can anyone help me here.

If you want a kind of sepia ("old photo") effect, you can create a Curve by following my tutorial here: BioRUST.com :: Tutorials >> Creating A Colour Toning Curve

If you don't want to use a Curve, I would suggest a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer rather than Color Balance: add a H/S adjustment layer, tick Colorize and then use Hue = 36 and Saturation = 40. This will give you a sort of sepia tone, but obviously you can play around with the sliders to get the colour you want.
