How can I put text on here

I did this from a tutorial from here and I want to know how I could put text on it so it looked like stampted into the metal??

I know it's prolly easy but I just don't know! Also what font would be good to use?

Any Ideas will be read and used!

This is what I got..

I did the following.

Added the text.

Text color "#9F9F9F"

Went into layer style, and messed around the bevel and emboss settings, till I got what I thought was good.

Anyway, the best I could do.

Joe.

use photoshops text tool. Type out your text. I would then use the transform tools to rotate the text to the correct angle.

Well, its a bit of a long way around it, but you can do the full engraving effect by following any one of these tutorials:

http://www.bluesfear.com/tutorials/engrave.htm
http://www.photoshopcafe.com/tutoria...d/engraved.htm
http://www.screaming-art.com/t_engraving.php

They vary a bit in quality and scope, but they all get you there eventually.

@joe: the beveling or ingraving you were trying to acheive doesn't look very accurate. it looks abit messy. i might have a go at this myself since, this seems kinda fun.

Yeah I agree, it was just a quick 2 min job, guess I'll leave stuff like this to the experts from now on. :-P

Supafly

Here is an example of a few types of engraving. I've included the photoshop file with the layers (photoshop 7). Click on the text layer with the text tool and you can change the font as well as the text. Three types of engraving are provided for you, if they aren't exactly what you want, pm me and working together, I am sure we can come up with the exact look you are striving for. You can study the layer styles to see how I did it, and learn to create your own unique look by playing around with the blending options. Hope this helps.

I had to zip the psd file to get it under the max limit size. Unzip it and you are ready to go.
