How do you create dotted line along selection border?

Just a small Photoshop question:

If you want to add a stroke (edit>stroke) along the (marching ants) selection border
but you want the stroke to be a dotted/broken line, how would you go about doing that?

Thx for listening

one easy way if you have the pattern you want would be to right clik on the layer you want to stroke and click on blending options, when the box opens, down the bottom you will see stroke, when you click on it the control panel should open giving you the choice down the bottom in the box of colour, gradient, pattern, click pattern and then select what you want to use and adjust accordingly.
hope this helps.
