Dents?

How can I give the illusion of dents big and small in metal surfaces? Anyone know of a Tut. on it?

have you tried just using the liquidfy ?
if you have a pen a vey tap taps here and there should dent it up
if you need cracked paint under the dents you could try a lighling brush.. I grabed a great set of these from our resources..

ahh that reminds me,,,

Well, if you have a bit of time.....

you could use the burn/ dodge tool to suggest an dent in the metal by creating highlights at one site and shadow at the other side. I don't tryed it out myself but a friend of mine makes some nice metal textures that way!!(Oh it handy if the viewer has an reference, like an screw, to see that teh shadow and highlight are showing an dent and not something that sticks out.....

hope this helps a bit.
