Other sites
This site is an amazing place to pick up resources and has an excellent system for doing it, but I was wondering if any of you knew of any other resource sites for Adobe PS? I like having an extensive library and sadly last week my laptop went rubbish on me and I lost my archive of textures and brushes...that'll teach me not to keep up a current backup.

When I clicked on it I got a message from ZoneAlarm saying it was blocking a spy site - what's that all about???

hmm... not sure... it is flash loading a moderate sized graphic so it may take a few seconds to load depending on web connection... seems to work fine when I click but the server does seem to bog down sometimes and takes longer than it should to open the intro. I have a new CMS site in the works that will replace that sometime here in next couple of months.
Blocking a spy site? Wonder if that has something to do with the redirect? I have my site setup so that it goes through a flash intro and then redirects to a subdirectory. I am not savy enough to implant any spyware in my coding so not sure what's that about.

Yeah, I was warned as well. Also, upon trying to get back to the page I was viewing, my browser wouldn't respond. I exited it, tried to reopen it and got this message as seen in the attachment.

would all those having problems with the link happen to be using a PC? that is only thing I can figure is problem because both here at work on a Mac G5 with both Safari and Firefox and at home with same browsers... it works fine. I even deleted cache and checked again to make sure and works fine.
I would love to know why you are all having problems just so I can fix it but I don't see the errors or problems from work or at home... I am clueless why its not working for some. Frustrating ;-/

Hi Dean,
I just tried your site again. Still getting the spy site warning (see attached), but if I ignore it, the rest of the site seems to be working OK in Firefox 2.0.0.3, although if I try it in IE7 I just get a black screen. (Yes, I am on a PC.)

Thanks for the feedback. Well, that's kinda what I had thought. I think the PC versions of most browsers have more security built-in and are more cautious when it comes to web sites and that could be why I haven't seen such issues being I work on Mac only. Now it looks like I will have to research just what makes a PC browser think my site is spyware and how to avoid such issues I guess. Like I said... I am a designer and not really a programmer so I definitely lack any skills needed to be so sneaky or manipulative ;-)

OK - I did a bit of digging.
Ran a Whois check on that IP address - it belongs to the RIPE network. The Réseaux IP Européens Network Coordination Centre (RIPE NCC) is the Regional Internet Registry for Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia. This doesn't seem to be bad in itself, but according to posters on the following two forums, certain unscrupulous people use the RIPE network for their nefarious activities, which has led to their IP ranges appearing on blacklists (one of which is obviously used by ZoneAlarm):
Blocking All Access from RIPE Network Coordination Centre IPs
Please remove RIPE Network Coordination Centre IP from blocked - B.I.S.S. Forums
If your site is running on a server within that blacklisted IP range, it would explain why some people are having problems.
PS: Sorry that this thread has gone a bit off-topic!

wow... that's interesting. Thanks for finding that bit of info out for me. So, I guess I should maybe start asking my host some questions about this and if they can't change it... I might be looking for a new host coming end of my contract because I surely wouldn't want to turn off any prospective clients with issues like that. Ok.. back to topic ;-)
