Adobe CS2 woes
I have recently converted to CS2 and am having problems with the brush, rubber and cloning. In fact they don't work! I can work the layer mask on Image ready and brush, but not in PS. I have WinXP if that helps. Anyone got any ideas why and how I can resolve this problem.

Hi Tony,
Can you be a bit more specific about what you're trying to do, what doesn't work and in what way it doesn't work (i.e. is a tool just not doing anything at all, or is it doing something unexpected?). Maybe attach screenshots, or even the PSD that you're having trouble with? The more we know, the more we're likely to be able to help.
PS: I've just done a bit of research on this. The first thing to check is that you've got the latest version of CS2 - apparently, the original Version 9.0 has some issues with certain video drivers that caused some of the tools not to work. Which version do you have? (To find this out, select Help > About Photoshop). If you've got anything less than Version 9.0.2 I would recommend you install the latest update.

I have all the updates and they simply just don't work. They register as you can go to Edit>Undo brush but you just can't see it. I will completely uninstall it and ensure that there is a clean slate from the old PS7 and re-load and see if that makes a difference. But, still if there are any suggestions would be grateful.

I have removed all the software, but unfortunately I can't reload back on. I have deleted all the references to CS2 on the registry and any files I could find. But, when reloading it tells me I have PSCS2 already installed, will have to remove it to reload!! MS is frustrating and dirty, it never completely deletes all the softwares. Searched all last night but can't find where its loaded. Frustrating or what! Ah video card
NIVIDIA GeForce2 MX 400
I always keep updates of drivers on all my systems.
Well better keep trucking on and locating this ellusive file/driver/registry. Got any ideas?

Tony:
This link may be of help: Adobe - TechNote : Manually remove Adobe Photoshop CS2 (Windows)
As you can see, there are lots of bits and bobs in the registry that aren't specifically identified as connected with Adobe or Photoshop, but which need to be removed.

Funny enough I am working on that Adobe tech bit now. Watch this space so they say. Might not be able to spend much more time sorting it out wife will be on the war path.

No problem - I hope you get it sorted (wife permitting!), but if you're still having problems let us know.
