Can't use pen pressure any more.

It's pretty much explained in the title. Normally I can use the pen pressure option in Photoshop CS2 with my new tablet but suddenly it does nothing. I've looked in the help but it doesn't have anything about it not working. And I know it's not my tablet because in my tablet control panel it detects different pressures just fine.

When Photoshop misbehaves, punish it by trashing the preferences file. That often sorts out these little unexplained irritations.

have you checked your brush settings?

once you are in the brush palette, select the shape dynamics, and in there you are able to select your pen pressure, and change it's settings, etc...

That's what I meant by the pressure option. I'll try nuking the preferences file tomorrow.

Ok I've never had to delete the preferences file before so I have no idea where it is. I've looked in places where I expected it to be but to no avail.

Yeah, it's not where you'd expect it to be...

assuming you have Photoshop 7.0 + and Windows XP, it will be in "My Documents/Application Data/Adobe/Photoshop/#.#/Adobe Photoshop ??? Settings"

#.# = your Photoshop Version (Numeric... CS = 8.0, CS2 = 9.0)

There are a few files there... the one you're looking for will have the word "prefs" in it.

If you have a different OS, look here creativepro.com - Photoshop Tips: Trashing the Preferences File for more information on fixing Preference file problems.

Mike.
