New to the pen tool, please HELP!

Hi everyone, I've been trying to use the pen tool in ps and I can't seem to get the hang of it. How to the points and curves work. I want to use it to design a logo with rounded paths. I'm fairly new to ps but I can find my way 'round most tools except the pen tool and I know how powerful it can be. If there's anyone who can assist me on this I'd really appreciate it. Thanks. Ok, I seriously thought Mog wrote a pen tutorial like a year+ ago, but I cannot track it down right now for the life of me. I know he mentions it in these tutorials:

I'm net to the pen tool too but when you get the hang of it the effects you can create are brilliant. The pen tool on Photoshop is fine but if you REALLY want to use the pen tool and use it properly, try Adobe Illustrator. I'm no expert with it but its pretty nifty when you get the hang of it
