There are different ways to do this...
One way is to use the Custom Shapes available in Photoshop (CS2 atleast) under the "Objects" shapes. You will find 4 different interlocking puzzle pieces which you can use to create an overlay or "die line" for your puzzle. You can bevel or deboss as you see fit... but you will have to alter the corner pieces to remove the extra "nobs".
You can also search the net (g***le) for puzzle dielines and fit your image to the one you like... If the dieline is opaque, you will likely have to remove the white background before you overlay the dieline on top of your image.
If that isn't too your liking, you can download an image of your favourite puzzle found online and use the pen tool to trace the pieces and create your own dieline. Make sure you start with your image and the puzzle image at the same dimensions.
Theres three ways... but i'm sure someone will be along soon with 2 or 3 more...
Hope i helped.
Mike.

All thee plugins cost money.
Filters Unlimited
is the cheapest at £21.95.
Xenofex
is $129.
Dream Suite
is $149.
I think you can download demo versions, although I don't know how much functionality they have.

if you open your original image then go into your photoshop foldrs and find patterns, there should be a pattern for a puzzle.open this up to the size of your image drag it on top of the original image change the layer to multiply and you should have your image with a puzzle pattern over the top.
