Enhancing tatto

What would be the best method for enhancing this tattoo? I want it just as a black tattoo on a white background. Thanks

Is that the full size and quality of the original image? If it is, you've got your work cut out to make anything of that. If you've got a larger/better quality image, post that and I'm sure someone will be able to help you.

Unfortunately that's the best quality I have it in.

I would probably just use the pen tool and trace around it, then once it's "vector" you can resize it to what you need...

here's a psd that i did up in a couple minutes, i've spent no time on it but if someone wants to take it and clean it up further, etc...help yourself

Here's my effort - don't know if this is right or not, it's just how it looked to me.

I converted the original to B&W by selecting just the Red channel (which gave the best contrast), then traced paths with the Pen tool, converted them to a selection, copied the selected area to a new layer, locked the transparency and painted over it with solid black. Added a white background layer and then merged the two. It's far from perfect, but it's about the best I could get from the source image.
