Sign/text on T-shirt

Hey guys,

Im gonna make few signs with text for print on the T-shirts. So im askin is it possible to make it in PS and make it in very high resolution like 1600x 1200 but so on the tshirt wont be signs of box pixels? Or i must make it in some vector program like corel draw or illustrator?

And i wont make big text, just like 10 words and little logo over the chest. So is it possible to do that in Ps or i have to go to other program?

tnx

cheers

When you create your PS document create the image in a size appropriate for the area on the shirt. (You may wish to change your units to inches or cm)

Make sure your Resolution is set to 300dpi and you should have no problems.

Of course, if you have even the remotest indication that you will need the same artwork to be larger in the future, consider using Illustrator (scaleable vectors) or creating it at a larger size than required (but keep it at 300dpi)

The printing method also can affect the quality of the image on the fabric, as well as the fabric itself. Try and keep your text above 12pt.

Mike.

One thing though: Save it as a .PNG
It has good quality and supports transparency.

In general, Photoshop can produce as crisp of an image as any vector based program, but always keep in mind that you can't scale the image without some loss in the quality of the output. This actually includes making images smaller. While it's not as destructive as enlarging images, it's always good to keep in mind what you plan on using the image for, so if you know it's only for this 1 size t-shirt, then as Mike stated, the 300DPI and exact size it will be printed will be great for these purposes.
