Help: Brightness/Contrast not working

I hope someone can help me fix this problem. When I select Image->Adjustments->Brightness/Contrast in PS2, Photoshop gives me the eyedropper tool and won't let me escape! I can pick colors with it, but all other menus and tools are greyed out and it makes that annoying beeping sound that means, "you can't do that." This is a critical effect needed for some photos, so if anyone has experienced this problem and knows how to fix it, I'd appreciate the help.

When you select Image > Adjustments > Brightness/Contrast, the cursor does change to an eyedropper - that's normal - but you should also see the Brightness/Contrast dialog box. This dialog box is modal, which means that all other menu options will be greyed-out until you dismiss the dialog box. Are you getting the dialog box?

Hi Tamlin,

No, I'm not getting the dialog box. You're right, I should be getting it... so I've been trying everything. This time I found the dialog box way off to the side almost barely visible on my screen. I must have moved it accidently once and it stayed there! Thanks Tamlin, reminding me to look for the dialog box made me search the screen more carefully. Problem solved... you guys are the greatest! (Even if it's a silly error on my part.)
