Photoshop 6.0, grainy grunge brush

I was wondering if anyone knew where I might find some grainy grunge brushes, ones that might reproduce the effect used in the gears of war logo. I found some through Google, but none were compatible with my (outdated) version of photoshop. But there MUST be some out there, so I'm wondering if any of you might know of something that I missed.

I tired making one out of render clouds, but it wasn't grainy enough, and I needed different sizes...

If you use the Brush Search Engine at this site: vbrush.tmp.layout you will (eventually) find some PS6 brushes.

Well Tamlin, checked em out, and they're wonderful. However, the document I'm making is 42.5" x 55" at 300dpi so it's massive. would you know how I could make these brushes "massive" to compensate...

You can successfully scale down brush sizes, but unfortunately if you scale them up you will lose sharpness and definition. The only way I can think of that might work is to create your whole image in proportion to the brushes you want to use, and then scale the finished image up to the size you want it. You can do this with Image > Image Size... but the results can be very variable. I have had good results with a plugin from Alien Skin called Blow Up: Blow Up
It's maybe a bit pricey ($199), but you can download a fully-functioning 30-day demo version which will do the job if you've only got the one image you need enlarging.

yea, the idea of blowing it up was one I tossed around. And in fact the entire image has been vectored, both shapes are in the shape tool. The only problem is that using such a grainy brush is "Counter-vector" so to speak and is not conducive to size manipulation (so far as I know). So I'm a bit wary, but it's something I will look into. The size is 42.5" x 11", or 5 sheets of 8.5" x 11" (guess what it's proportion was based off of).
