Big trouble with brush tool , help ! .

Dang brush tool , when I go to use it , instead of displaying the shape Ive
selected all it shows is a small cross , regardless of my selection . Is this a
Pc hissy fit or have I changed something without knowing it ? Thanx for
reading and Happy holidays to all , cheers .

Happy New Year Ghostknife.
Thankfully, this is an easy one to fix: Select Edit > Preferences > Display & Cursors
In the Painting Cursors section of the dialog box, make sure Normal Brush Tip is selected. Click OK to save your setting.

by default there is a hotkey to switch between the "cross" which is also called "precise or precision" or somethin...

and the brush shapes...

capslock...toggles this.

I've had this problem in the past too but didn't know what was wrong, kinda guessed the brush was too big or something. Thanks for the tip guys

A very easy way to fix this is to make sure your caps lock is off!

Edit : oops didn't read carefully enough. this has already been said
