Adobe Question.

Okay so I'm a graphic design student and in my school we have so many adobe products. So what exactly do all of them do if you know might you answer me. I might want to purcase the product for myself.

Adobe ps cs
Adobe illistrater cs and 10

Adobe Photoshop is probably the most popular application in use by designers. You can do pretty much anything. Adobe Image Ready is great for slicing images to prepare them for the web. It also has the ability to animate images. Adobe Illustrator is a great application for vector design. You can design something and then size it up or down without any loss of quality. Adobe InDesign is great for print work, such as books.

Not to confuse you further Darkie, but Adobe is also the proud owner of some powerful Web Design and Vector animation tools:

Dreamweaver - used to develop websites (HTML/PHP/JAVA/+)
Fireworks - An advanced image editor, slicer, and code generator
Flash - Vector animation tool
(All parts of Studio 8)

Go Live - Originally competition to DrmWvr before Adobe bought Macromedia
(a part of the Creative Suite 2 )

and the list really goes on and on....

Mike.

Don't forget about Acrobat. If you want to be a professional graphic designer, you will need to be able to use Acrobat too.

Most design companies will expect you to know not only Adobe and Macromedia programs, but Quark and Corel too. The more programs you are able to use the more chance you have of getting a job afterwards.

This may not apply to Americans as much as us Brits, but the average study time for a design student is one year foundation (or two year GNVQ adavanced) then 2-4 years additional time spent doing a HND or BA Hons Degree.
