Ahhh, thats quite simple. Just get a stencil-type font, rasterize it, and round the edges with a technique like this one: BioRUST.com :: Tutorials >> Anti-Aliasing Interfaces

Well if you think you sound stupid, I guess I should join your club because I end up in the same situation all the time...

I'll acheive an effect or style on a project and months later have to try and reproduce it. I never remember perfectly... especially if I use filters instead of layer effects...

Hopefully Manic Mog was helpful...

Mike.

A good way is to save the steps u made or the tutorial that u can't find in any word processing file so u don't get lost all the time!

if you're getting stuck, I'm sure manic would like to help you. I bet it would be help for him if you could take some screen shots of what you're doing. Or just save the images that don't look right.

lol... it's not stupid. we all do that. in the course of a photo retouch or manip i typically use so many combos of filters, styles, layer effects and whatnot along with manual retouching that I could never recreate something. I could do something so similar that only I would know the difference, but I go for effect rather than keep certain techniques... sometimes different techniques can reproduce same effect.
On your picture, it could have been a number of filter combinations, or simply rasterizing and smudging. Might I recommend a simple low-opacity white brush?

[edit:] ctrl-click the text layer. select->smooth (or expand. could be either one). fill with white on a new layer, or rasterize, and aply brush efects above.

This info won't be of any use to you as regards remembering what you did to that particular image, but to help in the future, try enabling the History Log in Photoshop. What this does is record every change you make to an image, either within the image itself (stored as metadata) or in an external log file.

To enable the History Log, select Edit > Preferences > General

In the History Log part of the dialog, choose where you want to save Log Items (Metadata, Text file or Both). Also make sure that you choose Detailed from the Edit Log Items dropdown menu. Click OK to save your changes. Now History logging is enabled.

To see the History Log, either open up the text file (if you chose that option), or click on File > File Info and select History (if you chose the Metadata option). Image Metadata can also be viewed in Bridge (if you've got PS CS2).

Here's a snippet from the History Log of an image I just had a play around with:

The History Log is just another one of those really useful features in Photoshop that are buried within the program and not many people know about. Anyhow, now the secret's out: hope this helps.
