Sewing/stitching seams of cloth

Hi

How would you go about to imitate sewed seams of cloths? (not embrodery or cross stitching)

I do it with own brushes right no but wonder if there wouldn't be an easier or quicker way to do it in PS that looks as real as possible. Or a plugin...

Any help appreciated
Thanks in advance

Claudio

Only thing that pop up in my mind is that you can use paths. Draw a path and then select brush and make it to leave some mark to look as a stitch. You can search for tuts that describe how to manipulate with brushes.

Thanks, but this is very difficult because of the direction of the brush stroke, they are not straight

As I said Claudio it is possible but I just didn't have time to explain. So here is the proof that it can be done

Once you've drawn your line of stitches as described by zlatiborac (on a separate layer), apply a Bevel and Emboss layer style set to Pillow Emboss to give them a 3D look.

Hello

Like shown above these are textures for 3D models, no "real cloths" and therefore need no bevel/embossing or such because the bumps and/or displacements are produced/applied at rendertime with separate maps.

zlatiborac:
Don't force yourself, take a rest from time to time...
If you really want to do a tutorial just show it on a plain colored file or anything. As mentioned above it is for texturing cloths in 3D, therefor it mustn't look real on the texture yet. It's the technique, how it'll be practical or easy.

Hope you have a relaxing weekend...
Thanks

Claudio

P.S. However I'm still quite interested in the tecnique you use...
