"Special Effects Brushes" in Photoshop CS2

Dear everyone,

The Photoshop CS2 that I'm using provides a set of brushes that have been preinstalled, such as the Assorted Brushes, Basic Brushes, Calligraphic Brushes, etc. I noticed that that the Special Effects Brushes are really quite special indeed as they have a certain "randomness" to the positioning, colors used whenever I use them. I wonder if such an effect is achievable with user created brushes. Are there any scripts involved and so on?

Any input will be much appreciated. Thank you!!

well when you create a brush u can set them up in a very detailed manner so yeah it's possible to achieve that randomness. search the web for some tutorials on how to create brushes in photoshop.

With the Brush tool selected, press F5 to access the Brushes palette. From here you can set all sorts of options. The key is to experiment with them.
