Need help with imageready

hi guyz and galz...
i am a web designer....i am used to designing web sites in flash but lately i tried out photoshop and imageready....
photoshop was pretty basic....as was imageready...still i am facing a problem....here is goez...

i created a layout for the webpage...i saved the texts for html editing..then i sliced it..saved it....
then when i opened it on dreamweaver, all were only images and i could not edit any of it.......


i have a template monster template..i saw its html version they had the images as background of tables...and the text was in the tables...

how can i do this from Imageready....is there a way to make the content of the slices i create as backgrounds of the tables???!!
