Help with engraved divider.

I would like to know how to create a divider like the one used in this banner this:



please help me.

Thats the oldest trick in the book! Just select a one pixel thick line and fill it with a color that is darker than the background color, then move the selection one pixel down and fill the selection again with a lighter color than the background. Its THAT simple!

The power of choice!
I prefer another method:
draw a 1px (or whatever weight you want) line with the line tool.
Add Drop shadow with these settings:
Blend mode:lighten
choose your lighter (or darker) color
Distance: 1px (or whatever acording to line weight)
size: 0px
tweak angle
This way you can change/tweak everything.
