is there a way to organise my brushes?

I have a lot of brushes in my PS and was wondering is there any way I can put similar ones together?

I read another post about using a viewer but that's not my "problem" - I can see them fine.

I would like all the hearts together and all the stars together etc. instead of being all over the place as they are at the moment. Am I just being too tidy-minded??

TIA

You can try to select the hearts and save them as "Hearts", if it's in another brush package you can try to select them aswell and save them as "Hearts" again. Not sure if it works but worth a try

No not at all! Its good to be organised in Photoshop. What you're asking is relatively easy, at least in CS is it, although it may be the same across most versions.

Simply open up the brush menu, like you usually would, to select a brush. Clock the little arrow in the top right hand corner. Select "Preset Manager".

Now you can drag your brushes around and organise them, when you're done just click "Done"

I know what you want to do, and it's quite easy. Let's assume you have 3 sets of Hearts brushes called Hearts1, Hearts2 and Hearts3. Load the first set (Hearts1). Now load the second set (Hearts2) - a dialog box will appear with the message:

Replace current brushes with the brushes from Hearts2.abr?

There are 3 buttons: OK, Cancel and Append - click on Append and the new set of brushes will be added to the currently loaded set. Repeat the process for Hearts3 and you will then have all your Hearts brushes in the same brush set (Hearts1). You can then save this brush set with a new name (e.g. Hearts). To tidy things up, you could then delete the original Hearts1, Hearts2 and Hearts3 brush sets, or move them somewhere else.

Hope this makes sense.

Wow! Who'd have thought it would be as easy as that?

Thanks for your help - I really do appreciate it.

I'm away to tidy my brushes now.
