Easy. Unzip (assuming they're zipped) the files into a directory (to make it easier, make a new folder called "Actions and Styles" or whatever in My Documents). Open Photoshop. Go to the styles tab, and there should be a little arrow button that opens into a m... ummm... Nevermind.

Also, if you had Photoshop open when you downloaded them, you'll need to close and re-open the program before it can "see" the new styles.

You need to open the Styles menu. Do this:

In the Color/Swatches/Styles palette group (usually on the right side of the screen), make sure that the Styles palette is at the front. Click on the Styles tab if it isn't.

Click the button to open the Styles menu - it's the little black triangle - and select your chosen Style from the menu. This is where your downloaded styles will be listed if you have put them in the default location. If they're somewhere else, you'll need to select the Load Styles... option and browse for them.

When you choose a style, you will see a dialog box asking if you want to replace the current style. Click OK to load the new style (you can also choose to Append the new style to the current set).

Hope this helps - if anything is unclear, let me know.

Click the Actions tab in the palette workspace (usually on the right side of the screen) to bring the Actions palette to the front (it's in the same group of pallettes as the History palette). You'll probably have the Default Actions folder there, so click on it to expand it and you'll see a bunch of Actions. Click on the one you want to run to select it, then click the Play selection button at the bottom of the palette (looks like a little triangle) to run it. Note that for some actions, you'll need an image loaded.

To load more actions (such as the ones you can download from the Resources section here), click the little triangle at the top of the Actions palette and select from the list of installed Actions (if you have copied the files to your Photoshop Actions folder), or select Load Actions... to browse for one elsewhere.

Hope this is clear - if you still don't understand anything, just ask!

does anybody know if there is an Actions tab in Photoshop Elements (more specifically PSE 2?) I don't think there is, but I just wanted to make sure it wasn't "hidden" somewhere or anything... Thanks!
